Ofcom Update: TV licensing

Ofcom today publishes a variation that has been issued to the holder of the Channel 3 regional licence for the Channel Islands. Channel Television Ltd requested that Channel TV's 'regional other' requirement be reduced to one hour per week. Ofcom agreed to this change with effect from 1 January 2008 and issued a variation to the licence to reflect the change. The news and current affairs requirements remain as they were.

Separately, Ofcom today published variations that have been issued to the holders of the Channel 3 regional licences for the London region in order to correct an error that was introduced in the previous variations to those licences dated 10 March 2008. The previous variations did not make it clear that the London weekday and London weekend regional and sub-regional quotas are shared between the licensees; the variations published today seek to clarify this.

In addition, Ofcom has published an updated application form and transfer application form for Television Licensable Content Service (TLCS) licences.
