Ofcom Update: Radio licensing

Wolverhampton 
 
Ofcom is today inviting declarations of intent to apply for the FM local commercial radio licence for Wolverhampton.  The licence is currently held by Wolverhampton Area Radio Limitedbroadcasting as 107.7 The Wolf, and is due to expire in October 2009.
 
Ofcom proposes to grant a further licence for this area, for a period from the expiry date of the current licence to 31 December 2015. The closing-date for the receipt of declarations of intent from prospective licence applicants is 3.00pm on Thursday 5 June 2008.

Canterbury and Dover/Folkestone 
 
Ofcom has received one declaration of intent for each of the Canterbury and Dover/Folkestone local commercial radio licences from the current licenseesKMFM Canterbury Limited and KMFM Folkestone Limited respectively.  Ofcom is therefore inviting the incumbent licensees to reapply for the licences under the 'fast-track' procedure as set out in Ofcom's guidelines.
