Ofcom has today confirmed its intention, as proposed and consulted on in its first PSB Review in 2005, to reduce the minimum quota for ITV non-news programmes for the nations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland from 4 hours to 3 hours on average per week, from 1 January 2009. The reduction of one hour per week also applies from 2008 in the Channel Islands.
Longer-term issues in relation to ITV non-news programmes in the nations will be considered as part of Ofcom's second PSB Review next year. The Terms of Reference for this work were published on 11 September 2007 at: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/tv/psb_review/psb_2review/

Mae Ofcom heddiw wedi cadarnhau ei bwriad, fel yr awgrymir yn ei hymgynghoriad DGC cyntaf yn 2005, i ostwng gofynion sylfaenol rhaglennu heb fod yn newyddion yng ngwledydd yr Alban, Cymru a Gogledd Iwerddon o 4 awr i 3 awr yr wythnos ar gyfartaledd, o 1 Ionawr 2009. Bydd yr ostyngiad o awr yr wythnos hefyd ar waith yn Ynysoedd y Sianel o 2008.
Byddwn yn adolygu materion hir-dymor yn ymwneud รข rhaglennu heb fod yn newyddion yn y gwledydd fel rhan o ail ymgynghoriad Ofcom ar Ddarlledu Gwasanaeth Cyhoeddus blwyddyn nesaf. Cyhoeddwyd yr Amodau Gorchwyl ar gyfer y gwaith yma ar 11 Medi yn: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/tv/psb_review/psb_2review/
